Our latest trip took us over to Paus Wellness Cafe & Studio as we were invited to try out their Candlelight Sound Healing group experience. Paus is a well known and beautifully designed wellness destination in Dubai, which oozes relaxation and mindfulness energy from the moment you walk through their gates. Located in Umm Suqeim 2, the cafe & studio are easy to get to and paid on street parking is available out front.
We arrived a few minutes early for our 7pm class and were greeted by the lovely staff after we wandered into the cafe through their outdoor seating and zen garden space. We loved the feel of the place and the branding really made us feel like we should take a pause and focus on ourselves for the next hour or so! This is something so many entrepreneurs fail to do. As we entered through the cafe, immediately we could feel the thought and quality of the place by the design and finish of the space. The cafe has plenty of feeling in a boutique setting with much biophilia to begin you on your tranquil time at the centre. They have coffees, cafes and much more available as well as WFH tables for those who wanted to get some emails done before their treatments. We spent 15 minutes in the cafe before our class, which was enough time to soak it all in and explore what it had to offer. It's certainly somewhere I would seek out as a work place to get me away from the office in the future.
When it was time, we were invited up the staircase and into the Movement Studio for our class. We had not experienced sound healing before so went in with an open mind and a thirst to learn. There were ten of us in the class, situated in two rows of 5. The space was laid out with cushions, knee supports, eye masks and blankets all ready to allow you to get as comfortable as possible ahead of the start.
The class lasted one hour and worked for us as a guided meditation, which then transformed into a sound based meditation. We were impressed with the coach as she took the class and led us through a relaxation journey, incorporating essential oils with the sound for an immersive experience.
There is something quite powerful about 10 people in a room, all completely relaxed, in a deep state of tranquillity. As the class wrapped up, you could speak to the coach about any questions you had from the experience, which we thought was a nice addition. We slipped out, impressed with the class and full of life.
For entrepreneurs, Paus is certainly somewhere I would recommend you look at as a place to take yourself to get away from the stresses of the business world. The combination of design, experience and expertise leaves very little room for your own thoughts to distract you from the business of relaxation.
